The Breath Co. began with a simple question: can there be a better way to care for bad breath?
In the early 1990s, dentist and bacteriologist Dr. Harold Katz set out to help his daughter, who was struggling with chronic bad breath. When conventional solutions weren’t providing the answer he was looking for, he turned to his scientific background to investigate the causes behind bad breath.

The Dentist Behind The Breath Co.
Dr. Harold Katz is a dentist and bacteriologist whose work has focused extensively on bad breath and oral care.
After graduating from the UCLA School of Dentistry and earning a separate degree in Bacteriology from UCLA, Dr. Katz developed his approach to bad breath through research and experience treating patients. His work ultimately led to the creation of the oral-care formulas that became the foundation of The Breath Co.
His philosophy was simple:
“Don’t just cover the smell. Understand what causes it.”
That philosophy continues to influence the way The Breath Co. approaches fresh breath today.
